Intellectual Hibernation

My mind has been hibernating in the cave of our culture's educational digression. Intellectually speaking, our relativistic society has been the crutch on which I hobble through my Christian life. After all, what is the drive to have to be intellectually accountable for my beliefs in a society that accepts it as "my truth" and requires no further explanation -- no discipline on my part to have a sound answer to the question, Why do you believe? Recently, my mental laziness has been challenged. I know I believe and am secure in the truth of Jesus Christ, his death and resurrection, but what good does that do John Heathen when he wonders why, or my future children when they are seeking the truth? I want those I interact with to understand the certainty of and security in the truth of Christianity. All questions can't be answered, but the Lord has given us the gift of undeniable proof of His existence. So with the answers at my fingertips, why is there no trace-evidence of them on me? It is my responsibility to seek out the answers rather than just relying on the faith of spiritual giants in my life, the answers they've sought out in their own lives and my trust in them as individuals. No more holing up in the cave. My mind's waking up from its slumber.
